In the last 10 years or so, yoga has gained so much popularity for more than just one reason. Characters in movies and television are always dressed in their yoga pants and carrying their yoga mats. We all can name at least one yoga pose (downward facing dog), but there are several people out there that have yet to take the first step and take a yoga class. For those of you that are still on the fence about starting yoga, Yoga Den wants to give you some reasons why you should go ahead and jump over the fence.

Emotional Health

Sure, yoga helps your body feel better because it is being worked out. But it has also been proven to help with emotional health. Exercise, in general, has been shown to help people who suffer from depression and other conditions along with some sleep problems. Exercising releases endorphins and raise serotonin levels, both of which cause a person to become happier.

Back Pain

If you suffer from chronic back pain, you should give yoga a try. Yoga has been proven to help back pain because of its stretching exercises. In a study, people with chronic back pain who went to yoga once a week, showed an bigger improvement over others doing different exercises.

Fertility

One of the bigger reasons couples have a hard time conceiving a child is because the mom-to-be is too stressed. Attending yoga classes is a good method of releasing that stress. It helps women to relax and allow the body to open energetic channels. It also helps with blood flow. All of these symptoms are known causes to preventing pregnancy.

There are so many more reasons why practicing yoga can be beneficial to your health. Look for more reasons in the coming blogs. For now, check out our schedule of yoga classes and sign up for one today.
