Did you know that back pain is one of the most common ailments of people around the world? You use your back, both your muscles and your spine, all day every day. It is no wonder so many people have back pain. Practicing yoga is a great way for you to alleviate some of that unnecessary pain. We have come up with a list of some of the best yoga poses you can do to help your back.

Downward-facing Dog

This move helps stretch your back along with your legs. Start on your hands and knees and put your hands on the floor above your shoulders. Lift your knees and push away from the floor. Stick your bum in the air and keep your feet flat on the floor.

Child’s pose

This pose is great for elongating your back. It works as a great de-stressor after a long day. Start on your knees and lean back so that you are sitting on your heels. With your arms stretched out in front of you, get your nose as close to the floor as you can.

Pigeon pose

On top of stretching out your back, it also is good for your hip rotators and flexors. This is incredibly helpful for those who suffer from lower back pain. While on the floor, pull one knee up and out and push the other leg out behind you. If you are experienced in yoga, you could try to pull your back leg up for a better stretch.
